Is My Blog Content Copyrighted? Can It Be Stolen?

Question: I am new to blogging and I would like to know if blogs are copyrighted or is anything I post up for grabs?

The cold, hard truth about the Internet is that ANYTHING you post can probably be ripped off from you. It’s the nature of putting content out there, if it’s valuable, then at some point some scammer is going to steal it and either reuse it for their own purposes (like a splog, which is a “spam blog”) or some other way.

So, the answer is yes, your content can be stolen. Never put anything online in your blog that you can’t afford to have stolen. That being said, you have to stop worrying about people stealing your content if you want to be successful.

Having your content stolen is part of the “cost of doing business” on the Internet. It happens. If it does, there are things you can do though. Here’s one of them.

If someone rips off your content and is reposting it as their own on their blog without attributing it to you, you can, and should, contact that person if possible and ask them to stop. If they don’t, contact their ISP (do a whois.net lookup) and find out who their host is and contact them and tell them one of their users is stealing your content. More often than not they will shut down that person’s blog or website.

How Do I Position My Affiliate Ads For Maximum Impact & Conversions?

I have a niche content site and I’m starting to get some traffic, and I’ve identified my first affiliate offer to promote. Now I need to know what is the best technique for making my affiliate ad work best. The product will be of interest to my audience, but is not directly relevant to the site’s niche. Can you give me some advice?

Being successful using affiliate marketing is very possible, sure, if you know how to position your affiliate ads. So let’s talk about that.

The very best way to make maximum referrals from your affiliate marketing ads is to presell the ad. In other words, you can’t just throw a banner ad up and expect it to work. You need to engage your readers with reasons why you’re recommending whatever it is you’re recommending. For example, you can see this on almost every post here at AsktheBlogger.

Good example: I came across this product the other day that I really liked, it’s called the “ABC Product” (put in affiliate link to product) and here’s why I liked it. If you are in the market for a product like this, you might be interested in (link here).

Bad example: This product is awesome, go buy it now.

But Don’t Lie Just To Make A Buck!

Here’s the big ethical issue. Are you simply trying to make money, or are you trying to build trust and relationships? Because that’s what affiliate marketing is all about, trust and relationships. If you are writing bogus content on your site or blog just to sell a product, well, then, your readers are eventually going to catch on and probably not trust you.

You should know that everything AsktheBlogger recommends is something that he has used or experienced. You won’t see any fake content here just to make a buck.

My Job Sucks, How Do I Quit My Day Job & Be Successful Online?

Quit Your Day JobI’m tired of working for horrible bosses in jobs that I hate. How can I finally get the financial freedom that I always wanted? Is there a guide that can help me learn how to quit my day job?

As a matter of fact, there is. And there’s an ebook too and it’s called Quit Your Day Job, written by super-affiliate Jeremy Palmer. I know Jeremy, and I can attest to his success.

Can This Ebook Really Help Me?

Jeremy has made over $1 Million dollars in one year using the techniques he gives away in his ebook. This isn’t a bogus claim either. The ONLY reason I recommend Jeremy’s ebook is because I know he is the real thing, and his ideas work.

As he states from his website…

High Performance Affiliate Marketing is a recipe book that will show you everything you need to know to generate massive profits as an affiliate. Fast track your learning and take advantage of an experienced, credible, and well-known Super Affiliate.
