I have found that to be useful. I am still working to get all of my ad slots filled, but it is a waiting game at this point. That rss option on your blog here is amazing, you should tell people about it in your upcoming post. I haven’t noted it for the first couple of times, now I’m using it each morning to check on any updates. I’m on a rattling slow dial-up link in Ohio and it’s quite baffling to sit there and wait for such a long time ’til the page loads… but hey, I just found your rss page and added it to the Google Reader and voil? – I’m always up-to-date! Well pal, keep up the good work and make that rss button a little bigger so that other people can enjoy that as well :-P

Hmmm… I find your advice quite useful. Just one question though, what if your blog isn’t ranking well on SERPs and that’s what your potential sponsor is looking for? Since they’d be worrying how you can drive traffic/sales to their site.

Those ads are called banner ads. The blogger, in your question, is possibly an affiliate marketer, he or she may belong to an affiliate network.

As mentioned you can get banner ads from Google Adsense, from Commission Junction, LinkShare and other affiliate networks.

Google adsense analyzes your web site and sends target ads based on the search terms that brings people to your blog. That may be why the ads match the content.

Or the blogger you are looking at, used a banner ad from an affiliate network
